Giving Tuesday 2018

Greenbelt Museum Staff

We kicked off our year-end fundraising campaign yesterday with #GivingTuesday on November 27! The event, which follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is a global day of giving fueled by social media that helps nonprofits reach wider audiences through collaboration. Through clicks and shares, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter users help nonprofits share their goals. Your donation supports the Museum's lecture series, exhibits, student visits, tours for visitors both local and international, and the preservation of Greenbelt's important history. It helps us to keep sharing the New Deal ideals under which Greenbelt was founded: decent housing, green space, walkability, cooperative living, and so much more. Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donated $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. And on Giving Tuesday, Facebook and PayPal matched a total of $7 Million in donations. Thanks to your contributions, we raised over $1100! Know that you are supporting a small, but mighty, organization committed to celebrating Greenbelt's past, present, and future. We are so grateful for your support. FOGM is a 501(c)3 organization and donations are tax-deductible. The Museum is a partnership between the City of Greenbelt and the 501(c)3 not for profit Friends of the Greenbelt Museum. Our mission: to be a community museum that provides gateways to the New Deal history and living legacy of Greenbelt, Maryland. The Greenbelt Museum inspires residents, students and visitors to explore this planned cooperative community.

Thank you so much for your support!

Community Pledge

The strength of Greenbelt is diverse people living together in a spirit of cooperation. We celebrate all people. By sharing together all are enriched. We strive to be a respectful, welcoming community that is open, accessible, safe and fair.

Preserving and sharing the New Deal history of an experimental planned community built by FDR in suburban Maryland in 1937 and still thriving today.
