Museum to Screen Short Film on Victory Gardens

The Museum lecture will proceed as planned tonight, Tuesday, January 18 at 7:30pm.

Join the Museum Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 7:30pm in the Greenbelt Community Center for the screening of a short (approximately 20 minute) instructional video from the 1940s which details how a Maryland family plans and establishes their very own Victory Garden. Follow this family through the process, learn tips for how to make the most of your own garden, and experience what life was like for many families on the American homefront. Discussion to follow the film.
This lecture is free and sponsored by the Friends of the Greenbelt Musuem. It is the first in a quarterly series offered in conjunction with the museum’s exhibition Green from the Start: A History of Gardening in Greenbelt currently on display in the Community Center.
